As many readers will know, Mary S. McEwen passed away in November of 2022, of metastatic stage IV breast cancer. I am her husband, John. I have kept her site open and available to readers, and I just updated her account payment method so it will continue indefinitely. Thanks for visiting. You’ll find my posts at left. I have separated them into three categories: “A World Watcher Bloviates,” which is a collection of my observances about being alive, basically; “The Family Newspaper Biz,” to be a collection of essays about the Sincell family’s 129 years of operating a weekly, rural county newspaper and print shop; and “Creative Works, i.e. Stuff I Made Up,” which are selections of my fiction pieces.

I’m surrounded by the two most important women in my life, I’m in water, there’s a raft involved, and the sun is shining. All good things to me. So come on in. The water is just fine.
